As a high quality photo printer, we offer a range of papers on which to print.

Choice means getting the paper that suits your image and purpose. A gloss portrait print may be all right for a photo album, but hardly suitable for an exhibition, or to sell to a client.

OzPrintShop has the largest range of photo quality papers on the Coffs Coast. If you have ever seen a sharp black & white print on a cotton paper then you can appreciate the difference the paper makes in presenting your image. A reproduction of a water colour painting deserves an art paper. We have 3 - smooth, textured and a parchment finish. Even photos have choices, with 4 levels of gloss paper and film,  2 lustre papers and 2 matt fibre based papers. There’s more, flagjet can be used for decalling a surfboard, backlit film for lit menus in shops, adhesive synthetics for indoor signs, polyester banner material for trade shows and more.

All products are profiled in-house for maximum quality of reproduction.

Why choose pigment prints over chemical prints?

The answer is simple - longevity.

Chemical prints are created by ‘chemicals’ and are exposed to light to control the image. This ability to sense light is always with a chemical print, and unless all traces of chemical are removed they can and will degrade the dyes in time. Kodak uses a ‘stabiliser’ as it’s last wash, using the preservative formaldehyde to ensure the colour doesn’t change or degrade. Formaldehyde is a dangerous carcinogenic chemical that none of us should be touching. Fuji uses ionised water in the wash to remove the chemicals, but use chlorine tablets to prevent algae growing in the tanks, and so leaves a chlorinated surface on their photo papers.

Pigment printers use particles of colour which are ‘expressed’ on to the photo papers. As these particles break down in the presence of UV light (all matter is broken down by UV light) the colour beneath the particle surface is the same as the surface, so the colour persists. This is what gives pigment prints longevity. It’s not a miracle, nor a secret, just some clever science.

What guarantees do we offer?

  1. Our first guarantee is to make sure your images are printed on to the right materials. This is done with consultation and enlightenment. There is no way that you, as a client, know what materials are available and how each one performs. We will sort this for you and give you a choice.
  2. Each image is corrected to achieve maximum tonal range, sharpness and colour fidelity, or we can leave it as it is - it’s up to you.
  3. We guarantee to use the correct profiles for the paper chosen, so the image is printed at it’s absolute maximum quality for that paper.
  4. All finished products will be defect free when shipped to you (we can’t guarantee the product once it leaves our store)
  5. Lastly, we guarantee that the archival properties of the product will be as advertised by the manufacturer.
