At OzPrintShop we only use high quality 100% cotton canvas for all our canvas prints.
Canvas prints require 3 stages of manufacture, and take about 5 to 7 days.
Stage 1 - Printing:
All image files are colour corrected (if required), sharpened, and resized to create an appropriate wrap. Next we add fold lines and extra canvas for gripping when stretching.
Stage 2 - Spraying:
Once dry, the canvas is coated with multiple layers of a liquid laminate using a high pressure spray gun. The laminate adheres to the canvas coating and creates a waterproof barrier so the canvas can be cleaned with a wet cloth. It also absorbs UV rays and doubles the life of the canvas by stopping atmospheric contamination from the front, as well as preventing cracking of the edges when framed.
Stage 3 - Mounting:
A suitable frame is cut and v-nailed from stretcher bar, to match the canvas in size. The canvas is positioned and stretched over the frame to produce a tight fitting skin. The back is stapled, taped over, and a string hanger is added.
