Photo enlargements can be printed onto a variety of papers. Some are listed below. Each paper has it's own attributes, and consideration should be given about finishing when choosing a paper.
Premium Photo Paper - 260gsm
Unless requested otherwise, all photos are printed onto a satin based photo paper, and liquid laminated for protection against airborne contamination. Pigment inks are used, and photos will last at least 90 years with suitable protection - namely, framed under glass or put into a photo album, and not subjected to continual exposure to high UV sources like sunlight and Flourescent lighting.
Budget Photo Paper - 240gsm
The budget paper is a micro-ceramic flat satin paper suitable for heavy liquid lamination (not included in price) in preparation for mounting onto boards. The laminate provides a strong cleanable surface that won't yellow due to exposure to airborne contaminants. Suitable also for proofs. Paper is plastic based and requires framing under glass if not laminated. Photos will last 90 years (as above product).
Ilford Smooth Pearl Paper - 270gsm
Smooth Pearl paper is the benchmark micro ceramic paper in the world. It has very little bronzing, strong colour, sharp detail and and beautiful pearl finish. Suitable for spraying with 'Print Guard' protection. Ideal for all Professional portrait applications, and for high end graphic printing and indoor signs. Photos will last 90 years (as above products).
Ilford Gold Silk Fibre Paper - 310gsm
A fibre based paper (no plastics) with a clay substrate. Ilford Gold Silk has no optical brighteners, a warm soft paper colour and warm tones. It has exceptional shadow detail and archival properties. Suitable for portraits, black and white and toned prints. Gold Silk looks and feels like traditional photo papers before bulk manufacturing took over. Photos shopuld last 100 years or more when stored correctly (as above products).
