Mattes are used to decorate and enhance your print when mounted with or without a frame.
At Ozprintshop we custom cut mattes to fit the custom or standard sized prints that are produced by us.
With over 1,000 sheets of various colours and textures we are sure to have a matte that will enhance your image. Variations include colour, texture and surface material - smooth, textured and velvet flock. The most common mattes are black, off-white, ivory and a textured white.
Prices are calculated according to your needs and our costs, taking into consideration quantities and labour.
Our standard mount is 5mm white adhesive FomeCor.
FomeCor is a light weight composite board made of foam sandwiched between 2 pieces of polypropylene board. It is fairly robust but extremely light. One surface contains a permanent adhesive and the other side a gloss laminate to prevent curling.
As it is an inexpensive product, the combination of laminated print and fomecor is a great choice where a budget is concerned. Fomecor can be framed without extra support, so a satin laminated print, on fomecor with a nice frame mould is the perfect way to create glassless, anti-glare framed prints. Also, as they are light, they don’t require any special hanging criteria.
A combination of matte and fomecor mounting with art prints is ideal for exhibition uses and curtails the need for expensive framing.
Small signage is another use. The rigidity of the board makes a great backing for market stall sales and shrink wrapping.
